My lovely friend Tara was having a "Rugged Outdoors" Fall themed get together at her house last weekend. Naturally, I needed to find something rugged, and well....outdoorsy to wear. I scooped up my daughter and we headed to the thrift store! We found some plaid and flannel, and some plaid flannel. I thought to myself, "These will do the trick!"  Initially, I thought about wearing a plaid button down with leggings and boots, but it just didn't look right. Luckily, I bought a few shirts to choose from. In the pile of shirts there was a perfectly fitting one for the hubs, which was a bonus, and I decided to pair my outdoorsy outfit with made-from-flannel-shirts scarf!  This is how I did it: Gotta start with some shirts... I cut off the collar and sleeves. I cut the collar and sleeves on this one too. This left me with the front and back of both shirts. I realized it would be wayyyyy too long with 4 parts,  so I decided to take awa...

 Do you have any old sweaters? If not, head down to your local thrift store and pick one up for just a buck or two. My daughter and I went down to our local thrifting spot, picked out a couple sweaters, and got ready for a Momma/Daughter craft project. For this project I'm using just the sleeve. It would definitely be possible to do something like this with the torso of the sweater. It might just take a little creativity and patience. Give that sleeve a snip! Sleeve Snip! Next, Turn the sleeve inside out. You will start to roll up the sleeve like a sock bun. Turning your sleeve inside out will give you a right side out pumpkin. Start to roll.... Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Leave a little wrist cuff showing at the top. This will be your stem. I bought some flower wire at my local craft store. Cut about 20 inches and wrap around the part of the sleeve sticking out. My daughter needed a little assistance with the wire. Just...

I LOVE BOB ROSS! Here is my tribute to him.... Robert Norman Ross (1942-1995) American Painter, Art Instructor, and he created his own television show. If you don't know who he is, please look up his show on You Tube. Episodes of his "Joy of Painting" will be there for your relaxing enjoyment.   I found this dress at Goodwill and it was falling apart at the neck seam, but that was all that was wrong. I knew I could do something to turn it into a better piece of clothing. This was a T-shirt from Wal-Mart a while back. I chopped the neck. I picked off those sleeves. I chopped the tee just below my natural waist.  I picked the sleeves and skirt off of the dress. I re-attached The dress sleeves and skirt beck to the tee. I also used black bias tape to make a new neckline for my Tee-dress. What do you think??? Happy Little Dress!!! See you next time!

I saw a skirt that my high school friend Leslie, posted on a popular social media site and I just fell in love with the cut, the print and the way she styled it. Leslie looked so glam, and I had to see if I could make something like that too (imitation is the highest form of flattery). I'm working on something as we speak... We graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago in the 90's *cough cough*... not too long ago. I had no idea about her skill of sewing back then, but I was a ditzy teen who thought the world revolved around her. I've heard that's a common trait among teens. LOL!
