Here's a quick re-fashion: This top was given to me from the stash of the lovely Bonnie I look a bit like a chef though. Have no fear, dolman sleeves are near! I trimmed some of the side fabric in a curvy swoop with my pinking roller. To make sure the sides are the same, I folded the shirt in half, and rolled the other side. I sewed up the seams on the inside.  Now, the fit is more flattering,  There's nothing quite like a crisp white shirt that  can be paired with anything! Thank you Bonnie!!! See you next time!

I found this tablecloth at the thrift store for $2.99. You cant buy that kind of lace yardage for that!  It had a slight stretch to it too! What a score! I had this off white very thin sweatshirt material  I purchased from an estate sale for $2.00. I traced a t-shirt pattern and extended it  to create an A line dress. I cut the tablecloth in the same shape,  but I made it slightly larger. Sally the cat could not get enough! She loved it just the way it was. I sandwiched the two pieces of lace  between the off white fabric,  pinned and stitched all four layers together. I sewed the sides of the knit separately from the lace. The only place the two layers were attached were the shoulders and the neck. I stitched the neck together with a  tightly spaced zig-zag stitch.  Aside from the shoulders and neck,  I sewed and treated them as separate  dresses when I hemmed it...

I purchased this plain white cotton fabric thinking I wanted to print on it myself. Ya know, make a stamp and repeat a little bunny or something all over it b ut, then I thought why not let my students have at it? I'll let them create a unique one-of-a-kind fabric, and I'll wear THEIR art!!! (I still might make some bunny fabric though.) So off they go with some fabric markers.... ...and go... ...and go... ...and go... This was a great way to end the school year! I cut out the fabric with one of my free patterns I pulled of the internet. Snip, snip, cut, cut, sew, sew. I followed the pattern instructions, and Voila! One of a kind dress that showcases my students doodles and fun! This dress sat in my sewing room for the summer, and I finally got around to putting it all together.  I added some black fabric spray paint after it was all sewn together, just to add some pizzazz! Now, it was all ready for my second day of schoo...

This discarded, and loved-no-more graduation gown was calling to me from the thrift store rack. It was perfect for this time of year when teachers say goodbye tearfully to some, and not-so-tearfully to others.  But we love them all anyway.  Heeeeey!  Over here!  Buy me and give me a new life!! So I did. Sally liked the dress much better once I picked off those sleeves! She thought it was a perfect resting spot. I chopped the bottom a bit, folded it twice because it was fray-fray-central, and I hemmed it all up.  I could use the chopped off bottom piece as a belt  or use an existing one.  Choices.... The dress is all white so this time, I decided to go with a darker brown belt,  and some metallic sandals. Congrats and good luck  to all the 2015 graduates!  I'm ready for the ceremony!
