Got a plain black T? Make it fancy by embroidering some letters or pictures on it! I picked my word: RESFEBER Definition:  The restless race of the traveler's heart before the journey begins. We are planning a summer trip, and I'm gearing up for just a carry on for the plane!  No time for baggage claim!  But I gotta be stylish ya know? I measured out how big I wanted the letters to be and  sectioned them off in equal parts with some chalk. Let the stitching begin! I did a basic chain stitch for all the letters.  This is when the thread is doubled and you stitch up through the middle  of the previous stitch creating a "chain" look. I'm ready to go! I really like the way the v-neck highlights the placement of the word. The white embroidery thread adds a nice contrast, but you could do all the colors!  Next up: Craft Party I try to get my friends to craft with me a couple times a year. I don't...

I get Hangry.  Hungry + Angry= Hangry. It was the perfect shirt for me. My hubs gifted me the T-shirt as a Mother's Day gift.  I love it, but I thought I would  jazz it up a bit. I had some random knit fabric in my stash and decided to  cut some sleeves from a free T-Shirt pattern I found on the "interwebs". I thought the stripes would add a fun contrast. Next... OFF WITH THE COLLAR! Stripey collar instead!  I layed it all out together and I was pleased with how it was all going to look. I enjoyed a coffee beverage and binged watched my favorite-show-of the moment  while I seam ripped those sleeves right off! Buh-bye old sleeves. I sewed it all back together with the new striped sleeves and collar.  NOW I'm ready for LUNCH!!! So cool! Its a fun way to make your clothes your own. Let me know if you alter some t-shirts too! I love clothes with eyeballs. I think it's totally cool. I think it's quirky. I think it's fun! I had a plain good ol' white T-shirt, and I found some eyeball patches at the local everything store. One of the eyes I used on a t-shirt project for my daughter, so I was left with 2.5 sets of eyes. Here's lookin' at you kid! They are a bit sticky on the back. This was a good thing because I could place the patches where I wanted and they wouldn't move. I sewed them on around the neckline and POOF! Now it is a waaaayyyyy cooler t-shirt! I paired it with the black track pants I sewed a while back,  and I was ready to watch my kid at her swim lessons! So quick and easy! See you next time!

I LOVE BOB ROSS! Here is my tribute to him.... Robert Norman Ross (1942-1995) American Painter, Art Instructor, and he created his own television show. If you don't know who he is, please look up his show on You Tube. Episodes of his "Joy of Painting" will be there for your relaxing enjoyment.   I found this dress at Goodwill and it was falling apart at the neck seam, but that was all that was wrong. I knew I could do something to turn it into a better piece of clothing. This was a T-shirt from Wal-Mart a while back. I chopped the neck. I picked off those sleeves. I chopped the tee just below my natural waist.  I picked the sleeves and skirt off of the dress. I re-attached The dress sleeves and skirt beck to the tee. I also used black bias tape to make a new neckline for my Tee-dress. What do you think??? Happy Little Dress!!! See you next time!

Here's a quick re-fashion: This top was given to me from the stash of the lovely Bonnie I look a bit like a chef though. Have no fear, dolman sleeves are near! I trimmed some of the side fabric in a curvy swoop with my pinking roller. To make sure the sides are the same, I folded the shirt in half, and rolled the other side. I sewed up the seams on the inside.  Now, the fit is more flattering,  There's nothing quite like a crisp white shirt that  can be paired with anything! Thank you Bonnie!!! See you next time!

HELP!!!  What is this thing!!! It's hand painted (says so on the tag) It was $3.00. But....what is this thing? Top? Dress? NOT FLATTERING!  I posted this picture on my FaceBook Art Teacher page for some help.  They had some wonderful suggestions, and I took them up on it. First I chopped the sleeves off. It was a drop shoulder top, so I cut just below the seam to create my own "facing" and tucked the extra "facing" inside. Then I sewed up hem. Now the top of it was manageable, but that ruffle...YIKES!! I chopped it off!!! It became a t-shirt....That wasn't exactly what I was going for, so I put it on, and measured where my waist was, and chopped it off just below my waist. I put the excess fabric on top of the ruffle to measure the waist, and I cut diagonally from the waist to the bottom of the ruffle to create my new "handkerchief-hem-peplum". SNIP! I sewed it together, and now.....
