Shoulder Pad Plushie!

Do you remember this?
Do you remember that it had shoulder pads?
If you would like to check out the entire refashion of this top, you can do it HERE

I took those shoulder pads and some extra fabric from a furry scarf, and they were a perfect combo for a Momma-made stuffed animal.

I traced out a shape, cut it out and sewed the ears on (inside out of course).
I've never made anything like this before, so we will see what happens.

Here lies the flat teddy

Check out his cute shoulder pad ears!!!

I found a couple black buttons, a bow, and tried my hand at an embroidery floss face.
Stuffed it with fluff...and...

Voila!
Cute little face, but I must work on a better body next time.
Its a bear..err...cat..err. mouse.
Uhmmm.
Hopefully my daughter will love it for a New Year's Plushie!
She will let me know what animal this is....
I'm glad I could use my leftover scraps, and turn it into something.

I'll let you know how it goes....
See you next time!

Graduation Gown not just for Graduates Anymore

This discarded, and loved-no-more graduation gown was calling to me from the thrift store rack. It was perfect for this time of year when teachers say goodbye tearfully to some, and not-so-tearfully to others.  But we love them all anyway.  Heeeeey!  Over here!  Buy me and give me a new life!! So I did. Sally liked the dress much better once I picked off those sleeves! She thought it was a perfect resting spot. I chopped the bottom a bit, folded it twice because it was fray-fray-central, and I hemmed it all up.  I could use the chopped off bottom piece as a belt  or use an existing one.  Choices.... The dress is all white so this time, I decided to go with a darker brown belt,  and some metallic sandals. Congrats and good luck  to all the 2015 graduates!  I'm ready for the ceremony! See you next time!

Red Romper Red Romper

My beautiful daughter took this picture of this less than beautiful dress. I thrifted it for a few dollars a long while back. I picked apart the skirt andplaced a pants pattern in its place. Picked off the sleeves and cuffs. Whole lotta sleeves! Extra fabric to make a sash belt. I found the center of the cuffs and pinned it for reference. You will see what I do with them! Bias tape around the sleeves and attached the cuffs. Check out the sleeves! Its actually the cuffs! I love my new romper! See you next time!

Dia de Los Muer-nksgiving!

Look at this awesome fabric! Check out the website where I bought it  HERE  It's just perfect for a Dia De Los Muertos dress! It's going to be perfect! I'm so glad I bought it in August, so I will have plenty of time to create and wear it before Halloween!  (Can you hear the sarcasm) .....time just slipped away.......  I was still going to make the fabric into dress, because I just loved it so!!!!   I decided to buy a pattern. A real pattern online!  A printable file that I had to put together, and decipher all by myself!  I put my mind to it and decided to go for it! I found one that I liked on www.burdastyle.com  You can check it out  HERE I originally wanted to make it with long sleeves,  but I didn't have enough fabric. Shorties will have to do! I kept putting it on and taking  it off to try to get the best fit. This was a long process. Too big in the shoulders, too long in the torso, a...
