Yes, Another Starry Night Dress

Remember these????

I still had some Vinny fabric left over from my husband. I love me some Vinny Van Gogh!
I decided to make yet another dress from this amazing fabric.
I am more than happy to sport more Starry Night outfits around town.
I just wore the Starry night dress last week to a wedding, and got lots of compliments. It was such a great feeling! My girl loves her dress too, and with the chilly weather here now, leggings and a sweater are perfect with her dress!
You can check out the details of the dresses HERE and HERE.

I had just enough fabric to make a simple t-shirt-y shift dress. But I only had enough left over for the front. Have no fear!!! I have plain black fabric that will be a great match for the back.
I traced a T-shirt and extended it down as far as the fabric
length would let me.

Perfect with a sweater and boots! A great dress to wear the day before Thanksgiving break starts! I know we are ALL ready for a break!

Without the belt.

Looks better and more flattering  with the belt.

See you next time!

Graduation Gown not just for Graduates Anymore

This discarded, and loved-no-more graduation gown was calling to me from the thrift store rack. It was perfect for this time of year when teachers say goodbye tearfully to some, and not-so-tearfully to others.  But we love them all anyway.  Heeeeey!  Over here!  Buy me and give me a new life!! So I did. Sally liked the dress much better once I picked off those sleeves! She thought it was a perfect resting spot. I chopped the bottom a bit, folded it twice because it was fray-fray-central, and I hemmed it all up.  I could use the chopped off bottom piece as a belt  or use an existing one.  Choices.... The dress is all white so this time, I decided to go with a darker brown belt,  and some metallic sandals. Congrats and good luck  to all the 2015 graduates!  I'm ready for the ceremony! See you next time!

Red Romper Red Romper

My beautiful daughter took this picture of this less than beautiful dress. I thrifted it for a few dollars a long while back. I picked apart the skirt andplaced a pants pattern in its place. Picked off the sleeves and cuffs. Whole lotta sleeves! Extra fabric to make a sash belt. I found the center of the cuffs and pinned it for reference. You will see what I do with them! Bias tape around the sleeves and attached the cuffs. Check out the sleeves! Its actually the cuffs! I love my new romper! See you next time!

Dia de Los Muer-nksgiving!

Look at this awesome fabric! Check out the website where I bought it  HERE  It's just perfect for a Dia De Los Muertos dress! It's going to be perfect! I'm so glad I bought it in August, so I will have plenty of time to create and wear it before Halloween!  (Can you hear the sarcasm) .....time just slipped away.......  I was still going to make the fabric into dress, because I just loved it so!!!!   I decided to buy a pattern. A real pattern online!  A printable file that I had to put together, and decipher all by myself!  I put my mind to it and decided to go for it! I found one that I liked on www.burdastyle.com  You can check it out  HERE I originally wanted to make it with long sleeves,  but I didn't have enough fabric. Shorties will have to do! I kept putting it on and taking  it off to try to get the best fit. This was a long process. Too big in the shoulders, too long in the torso, a...
