I have your typical wide leg  ugly-sweatpants-that-you throw-on-30-seconds-after-you-get-home -from-work-pants.  Oh c'mon, you know I'm not the only one that does this..... Anyway, these pants needed a quick pick me up STAT! These pants are too big, and bulky. I decided to give them some new life. The first thing I did was put them on and I knew what I had to do! I decided on a capri-type harem pant that I could lounge around in, clean the house, pay bills, pull weeds, work out....ok, probably just lounge around. When I was wearing the pants, I made a small snip a couple inches higher than I wanted them to hit.  I measured higher because I wanted to make cuffs from the leftover leg fabric. Snippy snip! These pants are super basic, and boring just as capris. I decided to jazz them up a bit with a side stripe of ribbon I had in my stash. I layed out the ribbon, cut a nice straight line, and literally glued it to the side se...

I get Hangry.  Hungry + Angry= Hangry. It was the perfect shirt for me. My hubs gifted me the T-shirt as a Mother's Day gift.  I love it, but I thought I would  jazz it up a bit. I had some random knit fabric in my stash and decided to  cut some sleeves from a free T-Shirt pattern I found on the "interwebs". I thought the stripes would add a fun contrast. Next... OFF WITH THE COLLAR! Stripey collar instead!  I layed it all out together and I was pleased with how it was all going to look. I enjoyed a coffee beverage and binged watched my favorite-show-of the moment  while I seam ripped those sleeves right off! Buh-bye old sleeves. I sewed it all back together with the new striped sleeves and collar.  NOW I'm ready for LUNCH!!! So cool! Its a fun way to make your clothes your own. Let me know if you alter some t-shirts too! I love clothes with eyeballs. I think it's totally cool. I think it's quirky. I think it's fun! I had a plain good ol' white T-shirt, and I found some eyeball patches at the local everything store. One of the eyes I used on a t-shirt project for my daughter, so I was left with 2.5 sets of eyes. Here's lookin' at you kid! They are a bit sticky on the back. This was a good thing because I could place the patches where I wanted and they wouldn't move. I sewed them on around the neckline and POOF! Now it is a waaaayyyyy cooler t-shirt! I paired it with the black track pants I sewed a while back,  and I was ready to watch my kid at her swim lessons! So quick and easy! See you next time!

Thrift store find.  It was linen.  That's all this really had going for it. My husband helped me out with my "before" pics right before I headed out to work out... ....well, that was a mouthful.  YUCK! This linen sits weird. This linen looks weird. It's just YUCK! It needed a good snip, so that's what I gave it! I cut it right above the pockets. I cut the sleeves to a 3/4 sleeve length too.  Snip! Snippy Snip! That's really all I did. Then I washed it....... A HA!!!!!! After I washed it, the jacket frayed at the edges from where I gave it a snip.  I LOVED it!!!! I decided I wanted to change the color of my new jacket somehow. But, how? What dye should I use? What color will be nice?  There were so many decisions to consider. I decided that the jacket screamed to be a light wash denim look. GRAB THE BLEACH!!!!  Now that school's out, I've had a chance to go through some of my clothes, and I was able to fill a large garbage bag to donate! I did set aside a few things to hopefully transform into something fun! I have this diamond sweatshirt that I bought from Kohl's a million years ago. I love it, and I wore it a few times, but it just didn't have that wow factor that I was looking for. I was thinking it would have a better life as a jacket.  Uh oh....That means a zipper........................ My diamond sweatshirt ready to be transformed! I found a zipper....yikes! I started by cutting off the cuffs of the sweatshirt because I was going to make my own. I wanted them to be a bit longer, but also more comfy. I chopped the hemband as well. Then I found the middle of the shirt and cut right up the front!  SNIP! I could have stopped here and made it a groovy cardigan, but I really wanted a jacket.
